Project Update: Major Airfield Reconstruction Launches at John Wayne Airport
Building on our earlier announcement of contract awards at John Wayne Airport (JWA), Ninyo & Moore is pleased to share that the next phase of the largest airfield construction project in our firm’s history is officially underway.
Our team participated in the pre-construction and kickoff meeting for the Taxiway A, D, and E Reconstruction project, marking a major milestone for this high-profile effort at one of Southern California’s busiest airports.
The project involves the full reconstruction and realignment of Taxiways A, D, and E, including upgraded drainage, lighting, striping, and the replacement of aging asphalt with high-performance concrete pavement. This modernization effort will help maintain FAA compliance and improve long-term performance and safety across the airfield.
Much of Ninyo & Moore’s work will take place during nighttime hours to support airfield operations. Our scope includes geotechnical and materials testing, as well as special inspections throughout the 952-calendar-day schedule.
We are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our field staff, lab technicians, dispatchers, and project management team as we move into this next phase of work with JWA. We have a great relationship with the JWA team, which began in 2003 and is built on years of collaboration and reliability. In addition to this long-standing partnership, we greatly value the opportunity to continue supporting their critical infrastructure improvements. Our clients are at the heart of what we do, and we remain committed to providing high-quality, responsive service on every project.
