Featured Project: Oakvale Road Realignment - Critical Infrastructure

Ninyo & Moore partnered with Michael Baker International and the City of Escondido to provide geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspection services for the Oakvale Road Realignment in Escondido, California. This important infrastructure project supports construction of a new roller-compacted concrete dam downstream of Lake Wohlford Dam and required relocation of approximately 1,200 linear feet of roadway through challenging hillside terrain.

When subsurface conditions differed from the design, our experienced team quickly assessed the situation, revised recommendations, and provided on site oversight to keep the project on track. Our services included slope stability evaluations, anchor design for long term retention, in place density testing, and full laboratory analysis of soil, concrete, and asphalt materials. Our inspectors ensured compliance with codes and specifications in concrete placement, reinforcing steel, welding, formwork, and grouting.
